Challenge yourself to climb Mount Kenya and experience the exhilaration of trekking the second highest mountain in Africa. Mount Kenya (pt. Lenana) stands at 4,985 metres and is an amazing 6 day trek in some of the most beautiful scenery Kenya has to offer. On your final summit day, an early start sees you on the summit circuit path, which is arguably the finest walking trail in all of East Africa. Experience stunning views, tarns, glaciers, ice carved rock formations and precipitous valleys, before ideally reaching Point. Lenana to see a spectacular African sunrise.

5 Days Mt Kenya Climb Sirimon Route Down Chogoria Route

Day 1: Nairobi – Naromoru

Depart Nairobi in the morning arriving Naromoru in time for lunch. After lunch you proceed to a hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Met Station – Judmier Camp

Breakfast in the hotel – Transfer to met station – Walk up to judmier camp, otherwise called old Moses at 3, 350 Metres. Dinner and Overnigh at the Camp.

Day 3: Mackinders Valley – Shipton Camp

After Breakfast, like Mt. Kenya passing through Mackinders valley. – Arrive at Shipton Camp at 4,200 metres. – Dinner and overnight at shipton camp.

Day 4: Shipton Hut – Mintos Camp

Early hiking, aiming to reach Lenana Peak at 4,985 metre. – From here, on a clear day, to the South, Kilimanjaro can be seen, to the west, Mt Elgon is visible. – Reach Lenana Peak, then descend to Mintos, at 4,250 meters for breakfast, then head for Road Head for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Mintos – Chogoria – Nairobi

Early morning breakfast – Walk down to chogoria and lunch at the town. – Depart for Nairobi arriving in the afternoon.
